A 55-year-old chiropractor in Union County has been sentenced to 90 days in jail for having a hidden camera in his office’s bathroom, the Union County Prosecutor’s Office said.

Livingston resident Gary Hecht pleaded guilty in January to six counts of third-degree invasion of privacy.

Springfield police received a report in May 2024 of a hidden camera found in a bathroom at Hecht's Chiropractic Office on Mountain Avenue in the township.

“Invasion of privacy is a violation of an individual’s fundamental right to privacy and security,” Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel said in a statement. “This sentence sends a clear message that such actions will not be tolerated in our community.”

Hecht also was sentenced to five years’ probation.
