The colder air will spread into southern Kansas tonight, and everyone will be much colder on Tuesday with high temperatures in the 30s and 40s. While a good supply of clouds will accompany the cold front, no rain or snow is expected with its passage. However, patchy drizzle is possible Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

It will be a boxing match on Wednesday and Thursday as the colder and warmer air masses battle it out on top on Kansas. It’s possible, if not likely, that we see a forty-degree temperature spread between northern and southern parts of the state. In other words, places like Concordia could be in the 30s while locations like Liberal are in the 70s.

Looking ahead… the cold weather pattern will eventually win the fight, and colder than normal temperatures are likely this weekend and beyond. Furthermore, ice and snow chances are expected to come back to Kansas, though the timing is uncertain.
