COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - After starting the new work week with fantastic weather, daily chances of rain return later this week.

Good morning! The cold front and parent low responsible for Saturday’s storms will lift away from the Midlands throughout the day, giving us a nice start to our work week. Under mostly sunny skies, we’ll have highs top out around 80 degrees this afternoon.

Tuesday morning starts chilly, just like we had this morning, but the nice weather will continue. By the afternoon, high temperatures will reach the low-80s. Take advantage of these nice days, cause they won’t last for long this week.

Another slow-moving disturbance will take its time across the Southeast at the middle and end of this week. That means starting Wednesday, rain chances return to our forecast. With this disturbance moving slowly, daily rain chances could last into the upcoming weekend.

Today: Passing clouds throughout the day. Highs around 80 degrees.

Tonight: Mostly clear skies. Lows in the low and mid-50s.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny skies. Highs in the low-80s.

Wednesday: Peeks of sunshine throughout the day. A few rain showers are possible. Chance of rain 30%. Highs in the mid-70s.

Thursday: A mix of clouds and sunshine with a few rain showers. Chance of rain 30%. Highs around 80 degrees.

Friday: Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Chance of rain 50%. Highs in the mid and upper-70s.
