The hunt for the Stanley Cup continued on an action-packed Sunday in the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs, featuring four first-round matchups.

In Game 4 of their series, the No. 4 seed St. Louis Blues faced off against the No. 1 Winnipeg Jets. Later, the No. 2 seed Carolina Hurricanes squared off against the No. 3 New Jersey Devils.

Also in Game 4 action, the No. 1 Washington Capitals faced the No. 4 Montreal Canadiens, while the No. 3 Los Angeles Kings took on the No. 2 Edmonton Oilers.

Here’s a breakdown of Sunday night’s results, upcoming matchups, and the biggest highlights from the action.

The Blues scored five straight goals after falling behind 1-0, overwhelming Jets goalie Connor Hellebuyck, who couldn’t stop the Blues' offense in Game 4.

Blues left wing Jake Neighbours recorded two goals and two assists, captain Brayden Schenn added one goal and one assist, Robert Thomas netted one goal and Justin Faulk chipped in with another goal. Goalie Jordan Binnington made 30 saves.

The series is tied 2-2 as the two teams head to Winnipeg for Game 5.

Bouncing back from a Game 3 loss against the Devils, the Hurricanes opened the game with a goal in the first 52 seconds, thanks to winger Andrei Svechnikov during Game 4.

The Hurricanes built a 3-0 lead before the Devils managed to score their first goal of the game, but the comeback proved to be too little, too late.

Defensemen Brent Burns and Jacob Slavin each scored one goal, with Burns also adding an assist. Svechnikov netted a hat trick for the Hurricanes. Goalie Frederik Andersen made 6 saves before leaving with an injury, with Pyotr Kochetkov stepping in to make 14 saves in relief.

Leading 3-1, the Hurricanes can end the series at home on Tuesday with a Game 5 win.

Neither team found the back of the net until the start of the second period, when Washington took a 1-0 lead. Trailing 2-1 entering the third, the Capitals rallied with three different players scoring.

The Capitals caught fire in the third period, netting four goals, including two from right wing Brandon Duhaime, to take Game 4.

Along with Duhaime’s two goals, left wing Andrew Mangiapane scored once, captain Dylan Strome tallied one goal and one assist and right wing Tom Wilson added a goal. Goalie Logan Thompson recorded 16 saves.

Washington could wrap up the series at home on Wednesday in Game 5.

In what was by far the most exciting game of the day, the Edmonton Oilers and Los Angeles Kings went into overtime after Los Angeles held a 3-1 lead until just under eight minutes remained in the third period.

The Kings drew first blood just under halfway through the first period with a goal from left wing Trevor Moore, taking a 1-0 lead that would carry into the second period.

The Kings extended their lead to 2-0 before the Oilers responded with their first goal of the game.

However, the close score didn’t last long as the Kings netted another goal to take a 3-1 advantage.

After the Oilers scored twice in the final period, with both goals coming from Evan Bouchard, the game was forced into overtime.

Right wing Corey Perry scored for the Oilers, and defenseman Bouchard added two goals as Draisaitl recorded a goal and three assists, Connor McDavid added two, and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins chipped in one. Goalie Calvin Pickard made 38 saves.

The series now shifts back to Los Angeles, tied at two games apiece.
