TAMPA, Fla. (KLTV) - Former Van Lady Vandal Skylar Savage picked up her 16th win of the season in North Texas’ 8-4 win over Wichita State in the quarterfinals of the American Athletic Conference Tournament in Tampa, Florida, on Thursday.

The senior entered the game in the third inning.

Savage tossed five innings, allowing two runs on six hits, while striking out three and walking two. Savage faced 22 batters and threw 66 pitches. Cierra Simon (Crockett) was 1-for-2 with two walks and a run scored.

North Texas advances to face Florida Atlantic in the semifinals on Friday.
