WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - After several days of rain, some of which was heavy, a brief pause arrives Tuesday before another rain maker hits for Wednesday. Severe storms remain unlikely, but some of the midweek rain will be locally heavy.

Any overnight showers left for Kansas will be light, with additional amounts under .25″. There will still be plenty of clouds around Tuesday with highs in the upper 60s and low 70s.

Chances for rain will begin in western Kansas early Wednesday and then start moving east. Most of the state should get rain, however, the higher totals could very well end up over the southern half with 1-2″ possible. Areas along and north of I-70 could receive up to .5″.

Expect conditions to start drying out later this week with some warmer weather pushing back to the region. Highs could be nearing 80 moving into early June.
