KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Dry weather and sunshine are here to stay. Soon, however, we get some of the coldest temperatures thus far this fall.

Important to note: Milton will NOT impact our local forecast. However, many are on fall break, in Florida, so we will continue to update you.

In short, cooler temperatures, dry weather, and abundant sunshine! A ‘dry front’ moved through very early Monday, bringing no rain, just as the name suggests. The cool winds from the north-northeast continue to pipe in, with gusts later Monday upwards of 20 miles per hour.

Tonight we are down into the low 50s, even 40s in many locations. But we have not seen anything yes, as the upper 30s are in the cards later in the week.

More chilly winds are back on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Those same winds will generally be keeping Milton to our south. That said, Hurricane Milton has rapidly intensified. While the major hurricane will not impact East Tennessee directly AT ALL, many from Florida are already heading this way to evacuate. Many from Tennessee have plans for fall break all through the Sunshine State. The best sources of frequently-updated information is the National Hurricane Center.

As Milton makes landfall later Wednesday and then surges east Thursday, we are left with sunshine and fall-like weather the rest of the week.

There is no sign of rain in the near future.

Lows are now well below average heading into the weekend.

There is a good window by the weekend to witness the comet, but otherwise we are all tranquil!
