CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WHSV) - Get ready for high school playoff football across The Commonwealth.

The Virginia High School League released their final set of power ratings and set the playoff brackets for the high school football playoffs Sunday afternoon.

Ten schools from the Shenandoah Valley will begin their quest to capture a state championship starting on Friday: Turner Ashby, Broadway, Wilson Memorial, Fort Defiance, Staunton, Stuarts Draft, Riverheads, Buffalo Gap, Strasburg, and Central. This season marks the first time all Augusta County high schools are in the playoffs at the same time.

The playoffs commence with the regional round which begins Friday. Region championships take place Nov. 29. Winners advance to the state quarterfinals, which is slated for Dec. 6 and 7. The state championships are scheduled for Dec. 14.

The West Virginia Secondary School Activities Commission are expected to release the playoff matchups for West Virginia schools on Sunday afternoon. Check back on this page to learn those matchups.

The playoffs begin this Friday with all games scheduled to kickoff at 7 p.m. WHSV will have highlights and scores that same night on EndZone at 11:30 p.m.
