This four-legged lodge "guest" had a terrible case of the late-night munchies.

A front desk clerk at the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park, Colorado, captured footage of an unusual guest (well, unusual for the indoors). The clerk worked late Thursday night last week and was up around 2 a.m. the following Friday morning. There was a noise from the lobby, and the clerk went to see if someone needed help. 

"Black bears can be dangerous in situations where they feel threatened or they feel that their cubs are threatened, but they are generally very skittish animals. For the most part the only reason they even come close to where humans are is to get food. It’s the time of year where the bears are trying to bulk up for the winter, and this guy was just looking for some extra calories to keep him warm during hibernation."

The clerk walked down the hall and found a large black bear helping itself to the fridge for a late-night snack. The bear turned and saw the clerk. After having trouble getting the door opened, the clerk ran back to her room and reported the bear sighting to lodge security.

After capturing some of the bear's curiosity on video in the hallway, the clerk retreated to her room realizing the bear had began to feel threatened and trapped. "It growled and started charging me," recalled the clerk.
