Many folks think of Vikings as one-dimensional stereotypes of bearded barbarians with horned helmets. Vikings: Beyond the Legend strives to set the story straight when it comes to the myths associated with Vikings through artifacts that give you a glimpse into the complicated and multifaceted society. Prepare to be transported back to the Viking Age, and gain a new perspective on a once popular Norse legend. Marvel at a culture of complexity and achievement that was the inspiration behind a supernatural world inhabited by Thor, Odin, and other gods and goddesses. The exhibit grants guests a fresh insight into the revealed archaeological discoveries that show why the Vikings have always captured the imagination of individuals of all ages. Vikings were highly skilled craftspeople, merchants and farmers whose influence spread across to Western Europe and beyond.
