Two Virginia Beach sisters won big last week — $10 million to be exact.

Virginia Beach residents Juanita Simpson and Sharon Calhoun were in Newport News visiting their brother when a lottery ticket paid off big time.

Simpson and Calhoun asked their brother to buy a lottery ticket while on a shopping trip to Food Lion in Newport News, according to a press release from the Virginia Lottery. He returned with a "100x the Money" scratcher ticket that turned out to be a $10 million winner.

The sisters had the option of taking the full $10 million over 30 years, or sharing a one-time cash option where each would receive more than $5.6 million before taxes. They opted for cash.

"At first we just could not believe it," Juanita said in the press release. "We're still so overwhelmed!"

But the sisters aren't the only winners. For selling the winning ticket, the Food Lion in Newport News will receive a $50,000 bonus from the Virginia Lottery.

If you were hoping for a chance to win at "100x the Money," you've missed your window. The game's prizes range from $30 to $10 million, and Simpson and Calhoun's win marks the third and final top prize claimed in the game, which means it will now close.
