Virginia State Police is investigating a two-vehicle crash, which resulted in a fatality. The crash occurred Sunday, May 5, at 10:46 a.m. on West Sunrise Drive, at its intersection with Cross Stitch Road in Pittsylvania County.

A 2012 Chevrolet Silverado on Cross Stitch Road failed to yield the right-of-way while turning left onto West Sunrise Drive and was struck by a 2004 Dodge Ram 2500.

The driver of the Chevrolet was identified as Tommy Richard Terry, 64, of Dry Fork, Va. Mr. Terry was not wearing his seatbelt and died at the scene. A 21-year-old passenger was not wearing her seatbelt, was transported for injuries received in the crash.

The 51-year-old driver of the Dodge was not wearing his seatbelt and was transported to a local hospital for injuries received in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
