Virginia Wesleyan earned a spot in the ODAC Tournament championship round with a 7-3 semifinal victory over Lynchburg on Sunday at TowneBank Park in Virginia Beach. Emma Adams improved to 18-1 in the circle with a complete game, and Mackenzie Myers and Olivia Knight drove in two runs apiece for the Marlins (33-7). VWU will host the best-of-three championship series because it is the No. 1 seed and will face No. 3 seed Roanoke, beginning Thursday. The Maroons beat No. 2 seed Randolph-Macon 6-2 despite a three-hit game by Tabb High graduate Jordan Brown. Sunday’s game was tied at 2 before the Marlins took control with a four-run fourth inning. Laci Campbell hit an RBI single after Joslyn Woodard was hit by a pitch and Sarah Prosser singled. Myers followed with a two-run single and Alison Pollack added an RBI double to make it 6-2. Adams kept VWU ahead from there. She allowed three runs on seven hits with three strikeouts and three walks. The Marlins added an insurance run in the fifth on Karley Beltran’s RBI single.
Also playing Friday in Philadelphia are Loyola Maryland and Duke, and that game’s victor will face the UR-Penn winner at 1 p.m. Sunday.

The Hawks beat Richmond 17-13 to win the A-10 tourney and improve their nation-leading winning streak to 12. The Cavaliers enter their sixth consecutive NCAA Tournament on a four-game losing streak, including an ACC semifinal loss to NCAA No. 1 seed Notre Dame. The Saint Joseph’s-UVA winner will go to Towson, Maryland, for a May 19 quarterfinal against the victory of Sunday’s game pitting Lehigh at No. 3 Johns Hopkins. Virginia (14-4) was seeded fifth in the 29-team NCAA bracket and paired for a 3 p.m. home game Friday against Long Island (11-7). It will be the Cavaliers’ 28th consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance. Klöckner Stadium also will serve as the host site for a first-round matchup between Florida and North Carolina on Friday.
