Colorado has a new state park that is nothing short of incredible. Welcome to Staunton State Park!
You've been to
Rocky Mountain National Park and you've visited
the Great Sand Dunes National Park, but have you ever explored Staunton State Park?
No? We thought so...
The park opened in 2013, and sits on a space originally donated to the state by Frances Hornbrook Staunton in 1986. Over the years, Staunton State Park has gradually grown from its original 1,720 acres of land to over 3,908 acres. From grassy meadows that stand over 8,100 feet high to granite cliffs over 10,000 feet, this state park is full of unexpected and varied natural features that provide a myriad of colors and beauty for you to experience.
Planning a trip? Go mountain biking, horseback riding, hiking, fishing or even rock climbing! There's a plethora of activities for you and your family to partake in during your visit that will keep you active and busy all day long.

Please be advised that the park is only opening during the day, so camping and overnight stays are prohibited. Also, since the park is still somewhat new, keep your eyes peeled for roads that could be closed during construction.
Once you enter the park, you're rewarded with the most breathtaking views in all of Colorado!
