Spend a sweet evening under the stars: indulge in ice cream, dance to live music, and celebrate summer at the local family farm.

It’s hard not to like ice cream. It is impossible to resist the frosty, sweet treat that reminds you of childhood and the simple pleasures of life. And it just so happens that, with summer right around the corner, there are plenty of places to satisfy your sweet tooth. One of which is the Prigel Family Creamery located in Glen Arm, Maryland. Sitting pretty in the open fields of Baltimore County’s farm county, this place is a scoop of heaven.

On Saturday, May 26, the creamery will open its doors to ice cream lovers from all over and host a magical event called “Sweet and Savory.” Drop in from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. to experience a whirlwind of sensory stimulation. The mystery ice cream tasting will let you sample the delicious treat made with organic milk from 100 percent grass-fed cows. Brookside Market will provide sweet and savory hors-d'oeuvres for you to munch on. And don’t worry, there will be plenty to fill your glass as well. UNION Craft Brewing will be on site for craft beer tasting, while Boordy Vineyards will be pouring their delicious wines. Live music will liven up the summer air for anyone in the mood to boogie.

Tickets are $50 per person and include a glass of wine, along with the ice cream tasting, hors-d'oeuvres, and craft beer tasting. If you fall in love with a wine while you’re there, bottles of Boordy wines will also be available for purchase.

If you can’t make this event, drop by the creamery on any other warm summer day. You’ll see the cows lazily lounging or grazing on the emerald green grass. Grab a blanket, bring the kids, and discover a new favorite flavor of ice cream. Even take a quart (or three!) home with you. With flavors like Bobby’s Black Mud, Cappuccino Chip, and Cookies & Cream – everyone is sure to find one that tickles their fancy. The creamery is open Monday through Saturday 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Please visit their webpage or Facebook page for more information.
