Creekside sophomore Connor Balazic is the new Florida Times-Union Athlete of the Week for Northeast Florida high school sports for the 2024-25 season, covering the week of March 10-15 in the Jacksonville area.

The catcher/infielder batted .500 for the week with two home runs and a double as the Knights went 3-0 against Columbia, North Marion and Nease.

He placed first in a vote of top Northeast Florida performers that included Ethan Fox (Bartram Trail boys track), Hayley Hinds (Paxon softball), Neel Jain (Atlantic Coast boys tennis), Skylar Kleinschek (St. Augustine girls lacrosse), Knox Pierce (Providence boys lacrosse), Emily Poucher (Fleming Island flag football), Kennedi Proctor (Jackson girls track) and Katie Wong (Stanton girls tennis).

It's time to vote for Florida Times-Union's next Athlete of the Week for the week of March 17-22, 2025.

The Times-Union gathers nominees from scores, stats and nominations e-mailed to the sports desk during the week by coaches across Northeast Florida. Coaches can e-mail these stats and scores to [email protected]. Deadline to receive nominations is 7 p.m. Saturdays.

This week's voting begins Monday morning and closes at 10 a.m. Thursday. Votes are restricted to once per device per hour. Vote at jacksonville.com/sports .

Here are the nominees for events from March 10-15.

Amia Bethea, Union County girls track



The junior won the 100-meter dash in a personal-best 12.11 at the Suwannee Mini Meet.

Kevian Feliciano, Bishop Snyder boys track



The junior set new personal bests in the discus (140 feet, 10 1/4 inches) and shot put (48 feet, 5 inches) in first-place performances at the Cardinal Invitational.

Cullen Garner, St. Joseph baseball



The freshman batted .625 with four doubles and two runs batted in as the Flashes beat Menendez, St. Augustine and Union County.

Dylan Hauser, Episcopal boys lacrosse



The senior scored four goals and two assists to help the Eagles to a 15-7 victory over previously-unbeaten Bolles.

Charlotte Maddox, Oakleaf softball



The senior pitcher hurled nine shutout innings with 13 strikeouts and only three hits allowed, and also batted .429 for the week with two RBI in wins over Yulee and Ridgeview.

Rafa Neel, Bolles girls tennis



The sophomore led the Bulldogs at No. 1 singles and doubles in wins against Tallahassee Chiles and previously-unbeaten Episcopal.

Shawn Selfors, Bishop Kenny boys tennis



The senior led the Crusaders at No. 1 singles in a victory over Bishop Snyder.
