Take it to the track.
You've finally done it. You've pulled the trigger on that 2019 Audi TT RS Coupe that has had you drooling. Your significant other is sick and tired of you getting up throughout the night to "check on your baby," only to return and list off its specifications – 394-horsepower, 354-lb-ft of torque, 0-60 in 3.6 seconds. When you get onto the highway, you can't help but stomp that go-pedal and rocket well above the speed limit. In some form or another, the car is going to get you into trouble. That's why you need to do something about it. You need a track day.
For that, we thank the car gods that New Jersey Motorsports Park (NJMP) exists. Now, they don't even know we're writing this – it's just a tip from one car guy to help you tell that person who says, "Where can you even drive a car that fast?" to go eat sand. There, they have two circuits, garage spaces you can rent, and a restaurant, and they host races like the AMA Superbike Championship and the 24 Hours of Lemons. In other words, there's always something motorsports-related going on at NJMP. Just check the schedule.
So go ahead, forget what they say. Get that new RS7, and sign up for one of the Skip Barber track sessions. You'll get some classroom instruction and some time on the track to explore the limits of your car. What else would you rather be doing?
Have you ever been to NJMP for a track day? If so, how was it? How much did it cost? Let us know in the comments below!
