PHOENIX (AZFamily) —Weather changes are ahead for Arizona with several weak storms set to pass through the region and a warming trend that could bring record temperatures. Today, the Valley should see mostly sunny skies and an afternoon high of 78 degrees, which is seven degrees above normal for this time of year in Phoenix. Expect light winds across most of the state today, with gusty conditions in the Colorado River Valley of Western Arizona. A storm system is pushing by to the north of Arizona, driving those winds. Most of the state will stay dry, but a few light snow showers are possible in the northeastern corner of the state down to 5500 feet this morning. Accumulation will be very light. High pressure will build in behind this exiting storm system tomorrow, bringing lighter winds and a few degrees warmer temperatures. Another weak storm is set to push through the region on Thursday and Friday. This will bring mainly breezy conditions to parts of Arizona on Friday, along with a few light showers in the high country. Significant accumulation is not expected. After the late-week storm exits, a stronger ridge of high pressure will build over the region. Weekend temperatures will climb to the low 80s in the Valley on Saturday and to the mid 80s on Sunday. The upper 80s are in the forecast for next Monday. While it is a ways away and could change, current forecast models show we could see our first 90-degree day of the year next Tuesday or Wednesday in the Valley.
