Today, Washington, D.C., is ecstatic. Even if you’re not a hockey fan, you can appreciate that amazing moment when everyone in your city is on the same page -- happy -- elated, even.

The energy in the air is contagious. Because last night it finally happened. The Washington Capitals won that much-coveted Stanley Cup!

The face that Alex Ovechkin, star player of the Caps, made as he held up the trophy cup kind of said it all. He was all of us -- whether we were watching from the arena, the bars, the streets, or our TVs at home. It was game 5 of the series, with the Knights taking the first win, and the Caps winning four consecutive games for the cup.
Even though the game was held in Las Vegas last night, what seemed like the entire city of D.C. came out to support the hockey team. And there are more celebrations to come! Washington, D.C., will have a parade soon to commemorate the big win and congratulate the team.
