RICHMOND, Va. (WCYB) — A Southwest Virginia couple, whose home was swept away by floodwaters during Helene, attended the governor's State of the Commonwealth address Monday. Linda and Carl McMurray's story gained popularity after Carl was saved by a helicopter after holding onto a tree for hours. News 5 Liam Bridgeman went to Richmond on Monday to talk with the McMurrays and the helicopter crew that saved Carl.
