The Washington Wild Things’ baseball stadium has a new name. EQT Park. On Tuesday, Sports Facility, LLC, which owns the club, announced a three-year naming rights partnership with natural gas firm EQT Corporation. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. The former Wild Things Park, home to the ball club since 2002, also serves as an entertainment complex in Washington County. This year, in addition to concerts and food festivals, EQT Park will host the Irish National Baseball team, Céad Míle Fáite, plus the Penn West California Vulcans and WPIAL baseball playoffs. “EQT Park will be a community asset like no other,” Wild Things managing partner Stuart Williams said in a statement. “We are delighted to partner with such a community minded organization. Their commitment to this area is evident in many ways, including the partnership they’ve formed with us.” The Wild Things compete in the Frontier League, an 18-team independent professional league founded in 1993. Last season, Washington set a franchise record for wins with 67, winning a West Division crown before advancing to the Frontier League Championship Series.
