Gov. JB Pritzker will testify on Illinois’ sanctuary policies during a congressional hearing Thursday with the U.S. House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, two other Democratic governors, will be joining Pritzker to defend their states’ sanctuary policies, which limit how local law enforcement can cooperate with federal immigration authorities.

The hearing begins at 9 a.m. and can be live streamed above, or on the GOP Oversight YouTube channel.

Pritzker retained a powerful Washington, D.C., law firm — Covington & Burling — to prepare for the high-profile appearance, the Sun-Times’ Tina Sfondeles reported.

“The Trump Administration is taking decisive action to deport criminal illegal aliens from our nation but reckless sanctuary states like Illinois, Minnesota, and New York are actively seeking to obstruct federal immigration enforcement,” Chairman James Comer said in a statement.

“The governors of these states must explain why they are prioritizing the protection of criminal illegal aliens over the safety of U.S. citizens, and they must be held accountable,” Comer said.

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson was in the congressional hot seat in March over Chicago’s sanctuary policies.
