Sixty-three years ago, the president was Dwight D. Eisenhower, and our country was a mere 191 years old. Though life was a little simpler and the famed buildings and monuments a little newer, the cherry blossoms still bloomed, year after year.

Produced in 1957 by Guided Tour Productions, this 12-minute guided tour of Washington, D.C., highlights the White House, the Washington Monument, the Smithsonian museums, Arlington National Cemetery, Mount Vernon, Monticello, Richmond, and Williamsburg, Virginia.

We find it absolutely fascinating to see what's changed in six decades—and what hasn't!

A synesthete who sees the world in vivid color, Joy is all about soaking up life experiences -- and then translating those experiences into words. Freckle-faced and coffee-fueled, Joy is on a personal quest to visit all 50 states in her lifetime (40 down!), see all the Broadway musicals, and eat all the tacos. For fun, she plays the piano, diagrams sentences, and solves true crime stories from her couch, along with her husband of 20 years and their teenage daughter.
