MANKATO, Kan. (KSNW) – A north-central Kansas city says water service has been restored. On Wednesday, Mankato in Jewell County declared a water emergency after a generator failed at a well used for the distribution system. The city says water service was restored at 6 a.m. this morning. The City of Mankato says the city is under a boil water order as a result of the failure. Only the Kansas Department of Health and Environment can rescind a boil water advisory. That will happen after the water has been tested at a laboratory. For more Kansas news, click here .
