Northern, central, and eastern Kansas are under the threat of severe storms Sunday afternoon and evening. Storms will be capable of very large hail and perhaps a tornado or two. More storms are expected on Monday mainly over eastern Kansas. Large hail and damaging winds will be the primary threats, but a tornado cannot be ruled out. A break from the storms and some cooler weather is expected from Tuesday through Thursday. Highs will reach the mid 70s, which is slightly below average for this time of year. Storm chances will return Friday and Friday night, but significant severe weather appears unlikely with this setup. More storms may be possible for part of the Memorial Day weekend, but the exact timing remains unclear this far out. Mon: High: 86 Partly cloudy and breezy; chance of PM storms, some severe. Tue: High: 74 Low: 55 Partly cloudy, breezy and cooler. Wed: High: 74 Low: 49 Mostly sunny. Thu: High: 75 Low: 48 Mostly sunny. Fri: High: 76 Low: 53 AM isolated storms; overnight scattered storms.
