Before the storm arrives, areas of flurries and light snow will be possible Monday night and Tuesday morning. Any snow accumulation will likely remain under 1 inch.

The main storm will arrive Tuesday night and will continue throughout Wednesday morning. Snow could be heavy at times, especially over northern Kansas. Travel impacts are likely statewide.

Total snow accumulation of 6 to 10 inches is expected over northern Kansas. Much of southern Kansas, including Wichita, will be in the 3 to 6 inch range. Areas along the Oklahoma border will get 1 to 3 inches total.

Snow will end by early Wednesday afternoon, then the focus will turn to bitter cold. Wind chills Wednesday afternoon will be in the single digits, and they will fall to 5 to 15 degrees below zero by Thursday morning.
