Ho, ho, ho — Santa and Mrs. Claus are coming to the streets of Swoyersville this evening.

If you would like to join in the parade, please meet at the Close 2U storage facility at 4 p.m. with the parade beginning at 4:30 p.m. The theme is “Light up or Blow Up.”

This will be Swoyersville Christopher Concert’s 12th and final Christmas parade.

“I would like to thank all who have contributed in the past to make all of my endorsers a success, Not just in Swoyersville Borough but throughout the Wyoming Valley. Hopefully, we can make this last Christmas parade one tor us all to remember,” Concert said.

Santa and his wife will be handing out goodies throughout the route. Unfortunately, Santa cannot make an appearance at this Borough building this evening….he has a lot of work to do at the North Pole.

The route will be the same as years before, plus it will be published on the Swoyersville Community Page on Facebook.

*An added note: This year, I will be driving in the parade with my 2007 grey Jeep and I will have two very cute elves passing out goodies to the children on the route. My vehicle will be lit up with multi-colored lights. Please say “Hi” to me.

Kingston tree-lighting

Kingston’s First Annual Christmas Tree Lighting will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, at the Third Ave Trail near the Kingston Recreation Center.

Help to usher in the holiday season with a festive community celebration.
