WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Showers and storms continue to move across Kansas this morning, and we can expect the activity to continue through the afternoon before we slowly dry out, east to west this evening. Like yesterday, nothing severe is expected, but additional (beneficial) rainfall up to an inch is likely. While most of the viewing area will be dry, isolated showers and storms are possible east of I-135 on Thursday. While Wichita and Salina most likely won’t see anything, it will be a close call with chances in places like El Dorado and Abilene. Clouds and rain chances will keep temperatures cooler than normal today and Thursday with highs mostly in the 60s. As sunshine returns on Friday, so do warmer temperatures in the 70s. The weekend will follow suit with highs in the middle to upper 70s on Saturday and Mother’s Day. Looking ahead… overall, next week will be warm, if not hot and mainly dry. There is a chance of storms during the middle of the week, but currently the risk is low. Temperatures in the 80s early in the week could climb into the 90s by mid-week pending the rain chances. Fri: Low: 51. High: 73. Sunny. Sat: Low: 48. High: 76. Sunny. Sun: Low: 50. High: 78. Sunny. Mon: Low: 52. High: 80. Mostly sunny.
