WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) - Wichita Falls’ two new high schools have just completed their first year, with Memorial High School holding its very first graduation ceremony Friday night.

“I’m just extremely proud of them. They’re so brilliant and talented and the things they’re going to do. I’m just very excited for them,“ Memorial High School principal Laurie Kinne said.

The Memorial Maverick class of 2025 seniors celebrated a successful year and received their flowers for making history.

While every graduation is special, this one held extra meaning for both students and the community as it marked the first graduating class in Memorial High School’s history.

Valedictorian Jun Park shared a message with his classmates about what awaits beyond graduation.

“It is our opportunity to create a legacy for ourselves and make our own impact. It is our opportunity to introduce our unique identities to the world. It is our opportunity to discover what that identity is. When you embark on this blind journey, you are guided by the memories and wisdom you share with us,“ Park said.

Following that message, family, friends and mentors where honored for playing a role in their student’s success.

Vice President and board of trustees member Susan Grisel left a final farewell for the seniors before they received their diplomas.

“Have integrity. Don’t be scared of hard work. It will set you apart from the competition and open the doors of success to each of you. Do whatever it takes, morally, legally, and equitably, to get the job done. Make yourself irreplaceable,” Grisel said.

Congratulations to the Memorial High School class of 2025.
