Since commencing operations in 2021, Breeze Airways has slowly but surely established itself as a key player in the US domestic market, particularly when it comes to flights from secondary airports. Now boasting an Airbus A220-dominated fleet of more than 40 aircraft, the airline has a busy November ahead, with Cirium , an aviation analytics company, showing that it has 4,097 flights scheduled.

The November schedule in a nutshell

These flights will offer 557,090 seats and 523,903,165 available seat miles, respectively averaging 136 seats and 127,875 ASMs per sector. This represents a slight uptick when compared to last month, with Breeze airways having scheduled 3,907 flights, 526,675 seats, and 494,218,123 ASMs in October 2024. Meanwhile, Christmas will see a further uptick, with 4,269 flights scheduled in December.

When looking at the figures on a year-by-year basis, the rate of Breeze's growth is plain to see. The airline has scheduled more than 50% more flights than this time last year, when November 2023 saw 2,725 sectors with 359,479 seats and 329,119,239 ASMs. Back then, the aircraft split was also evener, with 71.6% (1,951) of flights operated by the Airbus A220-300, and the rest by Embraer E-Jets.

This time around, the A220 accounts for a whopping 93.3% of Breeze's flights, operating 3,822 of the airline's 4,097 scheduled passenger sectors in November 2024, compared to just 275 for its Embraer E-Jets. This is reflective of the carrier's widely publicized fleet shift, which will see the Embraers moved over to charter operations, although it does plan to keep them in its fleet until at least 2026.

Breeze's Embraer fleet will continue flying scheduled flights longer than initially planned.

The top route by frequency

Among the many US domestic routes that Breeze Airways has scheduled to operate in November, one particular corridor stands out as being the carrier's leading corridor by the metric of flight frequency. All in all, the airline is operating 56 flights between Provo Municipal Airport (PVU) in Utah and John Wayne Airport (SNA) in Orange County on the outskirts of Los Angeles, California, this month.

Meanwhile, the return leg will see 55 Breeze Airways flights operate this November, with most days seeing two rotations in each direction. As indicated by the aforementioned data regarding the airline's fleet strategy, all of these flights will be operated by its Airbus A220-300 aircraft, which have 137 seats onboard. According to aeroLOPA , this figure is split between 125 in economy and 12 in 'Breeze Ascent.'

With neither Provo nor Orange County being among the largest US airports, you would be forgiven for thinking that Breeze would have a monopoly on this route. When Breeze launched in 2021, 80% of its summer routes had no competition . In reality, however, it has to face off against Allegiant Air on this corridor, with the carrier operating daily rotations with the 186-seat Airbus A320.

The airline's other leading corridors

Not too far behind this particular corridor is a route that will see Breeze Airways operate 53 rotations in November of 2024. Clocking in at exactly 1,000 miles (1,609.34 km) in length, the route in question connects Westchester County Airport (HPN) in the state of New York with Florida's Vero Beach Regional Airport (VRB). These 53 flights will offer 7,261 seats and, logically, 7,261,000 ASMs in each direction.

Interestingly, Breeze Airways' 137-seat Airbus A220-300 aircraft don't face any direct competition on this route, as the blue-liveried airline is the only carrier offering scheduled flights to and from Vero Beach. However, two other operators fly from Westchester County to other destinations in Florida, as listed below.

Breeze Airways has one more route this month with an average of more than one flight a day, namely its 36 rotations between Providence TF Green International (PVD) in Rhode Island and Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers. Unlike its Vero Beach routes, this corridor sees Breeze face direct year-round competition from JetBlue, as well as on a seasonal basis from Southwest.

All in all, Breeze will serve eight routes on a daily basis this November, with 30 flights scheduled in each direction on routes such as Hartford - Fort Myers and Akron/Canton - Orlando International. At the other end of the frequency spectrum, its least frequently-served routes will see just three November rotations on five routes, with multiple of these serving Raleigh/Durham, Sarasota, and Vero Beach.

Breeze's flights are going longer

Metrics such as frequency, seats, and available seat miles are among the best metrics for objectively measuring an airline's presence on a given route. However, from an enthusiast's point of view, other metrics can also capture one's attention, with route length being one such category. With the aforementioned Breeze Ascent cabin looking rather nice, for some it will be a case of the longer, the better!
