Clemson baseball is looking for a big bounce-back series as it heads to Tallahassee for face the Florida State Seminoles in a matchup of two top 10 teams. The Tigers (36-10 overall, 13-8 ACC) were swept at rival NC State last week, outscored by the Wolfpack 26-8. As a result, NC State moved to the top of the ACC standings entering the month of May at 15-6 in conference play. Clemson dropped to fifth in the standings. In the latest top 25 rankings, the Tigers are No. 4 in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll . Jarren Purify (.311/.444/.490 slash line) and Cam Cannarella (.300/.451/.438) have led the Tigers at the plate all season, but Clemson's collective team average continues to sink. Batting just .272 following last week's sweep in Raleigh, the Tigers enter the weekend 13th in the ACC in hitting (fourth from last). FSU (31-6, 12-6), ranked No. 8 in the Coaches Poll, is also looking to bounce back after dropping two of three against a top 25 Louisville Cardinals team last week in Kentucky. In the latest NCAA Tournament field of 64 projections, Baseball America projects Clemson as the No. 6 national seed while D1 Baseball has the Tigers as a No. 7 seed. Florida State is projected as a No. 11 seed by Baseball America but a No. 3 seed by D1 Baseball.
