No. 3-ranked Notre Dame women's basketball returns to the court Thursday night after a week off to take on Atlantic Coast Conference foe Virginia Tech at Cassell Coliseum in Blacksburg, Va. The Irish (17-2, 8-0) are on a 12-game win streak after beating Boston College, 89-63, on Thursday, Jan. 23. All five of Notre Dame's recent starters are averaging in double-figures in scoring, making the Irish a tough task for opponents. Sophomore guard Hannah Hidalgo leads the group at 25.4 points per game, followed by graduate guard Olivia Miles (16.4), senior Sonia Citron (13.7), senior grad Liatu King (12.6) and senior grad Maddy Westbeld (10.3). King also averages 10.7 rebounds a contest. Virginia Tech (14-6, 5-4) also has four players averaging in double figures, led by Carleigh Wenzel (14.3). Need a break? Macy, a 6-2 forward out of Elizabethtown, Kent., is a five-star recruit, ranked 19 overall and as the No. 4 forward. At Bethlehem High, she is averaging 24.7 points, 7 assists, 12.6 rebounds and 3.1 steals per game.
