The Miami Dolphins already had a lot riding on the upcoming NFL draft . The latest drama around Jalen Ramsey and Tyreek Hill might have changed their plans with just a week to go.

General manager Chris Grier already knew he'd have to find a new offensive tackle after Terron Armstead announced his retirement. He had already set out replacing key players like Jevon Holland who left in free agency . But then the team agreed to seek a trade for Ramsey, their star cornerback. And the latest domestic incident with Hill has some calling for the Dolphins to part ways with their star receiver, though Grier has said that's not happening .

Dolphins mock draft

Priority 1 for the Dolphins is to protect quarterback Tua Tagovailoa with Pro Bowl tackle Terron Armstead and starting guard Robert Jones gone. They've already added to the offensive line by signing guard James Daniels in free agency. But you can't have too much help on the line, especially considering what becomes of the Miami offense if Tagovailoa gets injured: They were 18th in yards and 22nd in scoring last year with Tagovailoa missing six games, a year after finishing first and second in those categories with a full year of Tua.

The defense will need tending to as well, and the Dolphins might use their first-round pick there. A lot of talent left in free agency, including starting safety Jevon Holland and cornerback Kendall Fuller. That leaves the secondary in need of new life.

Miami also needs help on the defensive line and at tight end and possibly wide receiver. The latest mock drafts from Joe Schad and Hal Habib lay out who the Dolphins should pick in the first round.
