The No. 9 Texas Tech basketball team heads to Kansas City this week to take part in the Big 12 Conference tournament inside the T-Mobile Center.

The Red Raiders closed the regular season with a 24-7 overall record and a 15-5 mark in conference games. They wrapped the regular season with 85-57 win at Arizona State on Saturday.

Texas Tech finished alone in second place in the regular-season Big 12 standings and will be the No. 2 seed in the tournament. The Red Raiders have earned a double bye into the quarterfinals and will begin play on Thursday at 6 p.m.

Houston is the No. 1 seed ahead of Tech with Arizona (3-seed) and BYU (4-seed) joining the Cougars and Red Raiders in the quarterfinals.

Play begins on Tuesday with four games featuring the bottom eight teams in the league standings.
