The Syracuse Orange and Maryland Terrapins get set to meet up on Saturday to fight for a spot in the NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Championship Game.

This is a matchup of lacrosse blue bloods. Syracuse has won a record 10 national championships, while Maryland has four to its name. The Terps and Orange sit second and third all-time in NCAA Tournament appearances behind the North Carolina Tar Heels, with Maryland and Syracuse making it to the big dance 47 and 41 times, respectively.

The Terps are in the final four for the 30th time in program history, marking the team’s fourth trip to the semifinals in five years. Maryland fell short of winning the Big Ten Championship, losing to Ohio State, but bounced back in the national tournament.

The Terrapins are trying to get back to the championship game for the second year in a row, and 14th time in the team’s history.

The Orange had to really win their way into the tournament. After a surprising run to the program’s first ACC Championship in nine years, Syracuse battled their way to a 27th final-four appearance. They have not made it to an NCAA Title Game since losing to Duke in 2013.
