Boca Raton School, Palm Beach County School District Misrpresented Status Of Investigation.
“The DCF case is still ongoing,” wrote the investigator to a parent in an email shared with BocaNewsNow.com. The investigator asked the parent for additional information and names of potential witnesses. Sources tell BocaNewsNow.com that at least one investigator is back at Whispering Pines Elementary on Thursday, speaking with kindergarten students about their current experience with the teacher who is the subject of the inquiry. The investigator is also said to be speaking with students who previously had the teacher when she taught second grade last year. Parents were told that their children may be interviewed by the DCFS caseworker. Under Florida law, DCFS caseworkers can largely speak with children in a school setting without parental permission. The Palm Beach County School District identified the teacher as Kim Baker. A records check by BocaNewsNow.com confirms that Ms. Baker has a valid and complaint-free educator’s license with the State of Florida. Ms. Baker told BocaNewsNow.com that the allegations against her “are not real.” Parents speaking with BocaNewsNow.com say the investigation focuses on Baker’s alleged behavior in the classroom. There are no allegations of anything sexual in nature, according to multiple sources. Officially, the Florida Department of Children and Families is not answering specific questions from BocaNewsNow.com. Most of what the agency does is protected by confidentiality laws. However, the Palm Beach County School District, which has slightly more leniency, did not immediately respond to questions about why school administrators at Whispering Pines told parents the investigation was closed when it continues. Ms. Baker was returned to her classroom on Wednesday after several days of “leave.”
