Sally Hawkins, The Shape of Water Frances McDormand, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri Margot Robbie, I, Tonya Saoirse Ronan, Lady Bird Meryl Streep, The Post And the Oscar goes to … Frances McDormand. She was one of the best elements of Three Billboards, so it is bound to be hers. But McDormand did encourage voters to go for the younger set, so will Ronan take this for Lady Bird?Best Supporting Actor:
Willem Dafoe, The Florida Project Woody Harrelson, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri Richard Jenkins, The Shape of Water Christopher Plummer, All the Money in the World Sam Rockwell, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri And the Oscar goes to … Sam Rockwell. I don’t really think he deserves this, considering how amazing Dafoe was in The Florida Project, but Rockwell has been receiving acclaim all season for his turn as a racist cop in Three Billboards.Best Supporting Actress:
Mary J. Blige, Mudbound Allison Janney, I, Tonya Lesley Manville, Phantom Thread Laurie Metcalf, Lady Bird Octavia Spencer, The Shape of Water And the Oscar goes to ... Allison Janney. Her role in I, Tonya was picture-perfect -- the mom no one would dare to want.Best Director:
Dunkirk, Christopher Nolan Get Out, Jordan Peele Lady Bird, Greta Gerwig Phantom Thread, Paul Thomas Anderson The Shape of Water, Guillermo del Toro And the Oscar goes to ... Guillermo del Toro. The Shape of Water was a cinematic masterpiece; this award belongs to del Toro. If not, newcomers Gerwig and Peele have a good shot.Best Adapted Screenplay:
