WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Authorities are investigating a burglary and vandalism incident at St. Patrick Catholic Church after officers responded to a call early Saturday.

According to Wichita Police, officers arrived at the church, located in the 2000 block of N. Arkansas St., at about 8:37 a.m. to find significant damage, including hate speech graffiti and destruction of religious items such as statues, candles, and glass and a burned United States flag.

Wichita Police are working alongside the Wichita Fire Department, the FBI, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives to determine who may be responsible for the crime.

Authorities urge anyone with information to come forward and contact 911 or provide anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.

The investigation remains ongoing.
