WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) - Although rainfall in the area appears to be over - for a few days at least - the Wichita River has not yet crested as recent rain continues to flow into the waterway via creeks and drainage systems. The river is expected to reach its highest around 1 a.m. Saturday before slowly diminishing back to regular levels.

Two Wichita Falls streets are closed downtown due to flooding. Tulsa Street and Woods Street are both closed from Smith Street to Homes Avenue. City officials will continue to monitor the situation, but the Emergency Operations Center will transition to standby while continuing to monitor conditions around town.
