The city of Wichita Falls said Friday afternoon the National Weather Service forecasts the Wichita River will crest at about 1 a.m. Saturday and also forecasts a break in the rain over the weekend. But the city warned two road closures were in place and continued road closures are still possible. The release said the Emergency Operations Center will transition to standby, and monitoring will continueovernight. The Wichita Falls Fire Department will continue to drive through flood prone neighborhoodsto monitor road conditions. The release said if the situation changes and evacuations are needed, all local agencies are staged and ready to activate the emergency plans already in place.
