A man who got probation on 10 counts of possession of child pornography is back in jail in Wichita Falls, this time held with orders to hold without bail. The Wichita County District Attorney's Office is seeking to have Joshua Duane Lyford's probation revoked, according to court documents. Wichita County Jail records show the 42-year-old was booked into jail Friday on charges that stem from 2017. As part of a plea deal, Lyford pleaded guilty, and 78 th District Court Judge Meredith Kennedy sentenced him to 10 years of probation in December 2022, according to previous Times Record News reports. Lyford was also required to register as a sex offender, attend sex-offender treatment, not have contact with anyone under 18 without approval and other requirements to restrict his contact with children and pornographic material. Jail records show Lyford was arrested in October 2024 for failure to register as a sex offender and was released a few days later. Friday’s arrest marked the fourth time he has been jailed in connection with the charges related to child sexual abuse material. Lyford’s first arrest came after the North Texas Internet Crimes Against Children's Task Force of the Wichita Falls police investigated tips about his online activity, according to court documents. The tips were from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children's CyberTipline as passed on from Google. Google had provided account information and image files of suspected illegal material immediately recognizable as depicting child pornography, according to court records. The internet provider address and account information traced back to Lyford. The pornographic images depicted children from toddler age to about 11 years old, according to the court documents.
