PLANNING THE NEXT 24 HOURS: A weather system today will bring breezy conditions and a chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms, mainly for areas north of Madison. Some small hail cannot be ruled out. Today's highs will be in the lower to middle 60s with winds gusting up to 25 mph. EXTENDED FORECAST: The weather system will hold up tonight's lows into the upper 40s, and then it will turn cooler and windier by Monday. Northwesterly winds gusting up to 40 mph will keep highs in the middle 50s Monday, and then lower 50s Tuesday. We'll also see a chance of showers Monday night, with some wet snow possibly mixing in with the rain. A return to warmer temperatures is expected by Wednesday where highs will be near 60°. Temperatures will warm even further to end the work week, and the warmer air will be accompanied by a chance of widespread showers and possibly some storms Thursday into Friday.
