COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - After a weakening line of thunderstorms rolls through this morning, we’ll be windy with sunshine for the afternoon.

Good morning! The line of storms associated with our next cold front are weakening as they move through the Midlands. At times, we’ll have downpours, gusty winds and rumbles of thunder. By mid-morning, this line falls apart and skies will quickly clear out behind it.

As our cold front arrives at lunchtime and into the early-afternoon, winds are going to pick up. Throughout the day, we’ll have wind gusts of 20 to 30 MPH. Thankfully, we’ll have sunshine to work with and this breeze will provide relief from the afternoon heat. High temperatures today top out in the low-90s.

Drier air continues to settle in Thursday, which will give us another breezy day. Once again, we’ll be working with sunshine, which will provide relief from the heat we’ll feel in the afternoon. Highs Thursday will reach the upper-80s.

For the end of this week and into Memorial Day weekend, cooler air returns, reminding us its still Spring! Our mornings will get as chilly as the mid and upper-50s, with daytime highs only topping out around 80 degrees.

Tonight: Mostly clear. Breezy at times, with temperatures dropping into the low and mid-60s.

Thursday: Mostly sunny skies. Windy at times, with gusts up to 30 MPH. Highs in the upper-80s.

Friday: Mostly sunny. Highs near 80 degrees.

Saturday: Mostly sunny skies. Highs around 80 degrees.

Sunday: Partly to mostly cloudy skies. Slight chance of rain in the afternoon and evening. Highs in the mid-80s.

Memorial Day: Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Chance of rain 40%. Highs in the mid-80s.
