Winter Park Express will have 27 round-trips between Union Station and the Grand County ski area for the 2018 season. Tickets for the express are now available!
Earlier this year was Amtrack's Winter Park Express's inaugural season, and it returns again for the 2018 season. While the service won't start until January 5, tickets are already on sale! Tickets include three Friday roundtrips and reduced fares ($29) on some departures. If you've got a big group, call (800)-USA-1GRP for packages that include the train, lodging, and skiing. Otherwise, all other tickets are usually around $39 to $59. It's important to note that discounted tickets are on a first-come, first-serve basis. So get them while they're hot! Winter Park Express will journey along 27 round-trips between Union Station in Denver (1701 Wynkoop Street) and the Grand County ski area. It will run each Saturday and Sunday from January 5 until March 25, with round-trips on the first Friday of each month of the season (January 5, February 2, and March 2). [gallery columns="2" size="large" ids="22227,22226"] Each train is able to take more than 500 riders at a time. You'll journey through the Moffat Tunnel, then exit in Grand County. Not sure about you, but I'd much rather take a scenic route than be stuck on I-70 in bumper-to-bumper traffic.
