WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Get ready for winter’s revenge this week as we are tracking a winter storm to hit the state Tuesday night and Wednesday. Today will be the best day to prepare as we’ll still have quiet but cold weather. Expect highs in the upper 30s and low 40s across the state under cloudy skies.

Light snow is possible across the state tonight and into Tuesday morning. Accumulations will be light and under an inch.

Heading into Tuesday, most of the day will be breezy and colder, with highs in the 20s. Our storm system will kick into gear well after sunset, bringing moderate and sometimes heavy snow statewide overnight. Snow will continue into the first half of Wednesday, tapering off by the afternoon. Travel impacts are expected across the state.

Total snow accumulations of 6 to 10 inches can be expected along and north of I-70. Areas south of the interstate, including Wichita, could receive 3 to 6 inches of snow. Anywhere south of Highway 400 will see less, between 1 and 3 inches.

Tomorrow: Slight chance for AM snow; greater chances overnight. Wind: NE 10-20; gusty. High: 29.

Wed: Low: 17. High: 20. Morning moderate/heavy snow, ending in the afternoon.

Thu: Low: 5. High: 22. Morning clouds, then becoming partly cloudy.

Fri: Low: 11. High: 37. Mostly cloudy & breezy; chance for night rain/snow.
