MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - A father-son musical duo is getting ready to host an album-listening party and five woman-owned businesses are coming together to promote self-confidence.

Upper Michigan Today explores STREAKING IN TONGUES' “Odds and Alternate Endings” and the “Wine and Shine” adult heels class being offered at Studio Dance Arts.

Ronnie Ferguson and his 17-year-old son Elliot comprise the musical duo, STREAKING IN TONGUES.

Its latest album, “Odds and Alternate Endings” has been a work in the making since before Elliot was born.

Now, it’s ready to be listened to!

The band is hosting an album listening party this Thursday, Nov. 14, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Superior Culture in Marquette.

The City of Marquette is gearing up for a busy day of shopping next Thursday.

Downtown Day Out and Ladies Night Out are on Nov. 21 at 50+ participating businesses.

Bombshell Boudoir is one of the participating businesses.

There, you’ll have the chance to connect with photographer Brooke Grondin over refreshments and a studio tour.

If you want to experience boudoir photography but don’t want to commit to a full session, Bombshell Boudoir is hosting a holiday mini-session on Nov. 24.

Plus, she‘s hosting the second annual Bombshell Ball at The Mather on Dec. 7. You can learn more about Grondin’s services and events on Facebook .

Grondin is teaming up with four other businesses for a five-week adult dance course.

Ashley Tremblay of Studio Dance Arts is teaching an adult heels class on Sundays from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. beginning Nov. 24 and ending Dec. 22.

During the final session, Katie Guizetti of PuR Salon will do your hair, Jessica Mariin of Fresh Coast Beauty will do your lips and lashes, and Grondin will take photographs of you in action.

Participants will also get a gift certificate to Read My Lips romance book store from Nikki Odom.

Tremblay says the heels class is tasteful and not burlesque dancing.

Registration is $200/dancer, and you can register by emailing [email protected].

Fresh Coast Beauty has new lip colors.

Mariin says she named her new pink shade after her grandma, Allie Mae.

And finally, Ferguson plays one more song.

Here’s, “Piano Cemetary”.
