At 11:35 a.m. May 9, a woman, 28, reported that her former boyfriend, who is the father of her child, was hitting her and had pushed her out of her home. The man, 30, was present when officers arrived. The woman declined a transport to the hospital. After speaking with officers, she took her child and left for the day. Police did not charge the man, but referred the matter to the city prosecutor to determine if charges would be filed. At 12:30 p.m. May 12, police were called to a three-unit residence on Churchill Road on a report of a disturbance. A man, 47, who lives on the third floor with his girlfriend, reported that a man, 29, who lives on the second floor, had been banging on his door in regard to an altercation about the older man’s keys being unaccounted for. The 47-year-old man’s girlfriend is the sister of the 29-year-old man. The older man believed that the younger man broke his car’s window, although he did not witness such an act. The younger man told police that he woke up to text messages from his sister demanding the keys to his vehicle. When officers responded, the woman would not allow them into the house. At 12:50 p.m., however, the woman called 911, screaming for police to return. She said there may be a gun involved, although police, in their report, did not mention finding a gun at the scene. While on the phone, the woman was yelling at people near her, then at the dispatcher. She then hung up. No arrests were made. Further details are not known. Police have not yet resolved the matter. At 3 p.m. May 11, an officer stopped a car on Richmond Road near Case Avenue for a traffic violation. They learned that its driver, a Cleveland woman, 41, was wanted on several warrants. Those warrants were issued by police in Parma, Mentor and Bratenahl, as well as sheriff’s offices in Stark and Summit counties. Police arrested the woman, had her car towed and turned her over to Parma police. At 2:30 a.m. May 10, an officer stopped a car for red light and window tint violations. It was subsequently learned that the driver, a Cleveland woman, 57, was intoxicated. The woman was found to have a blood-alcohol content of .138, above the state minimum for drunk driving of .08.
