An argument at a Jacksonville Dunkin' drive-thru led to an altercation, ending with a woman being shot. According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred at approximately 5:35 p.m. yesterday at the Dunkin' located at 7005 Gate Parkway. After a dispute with another individual in the vehicle, the woman was shot in both the shoulder and back of the head, News4Jax reported.

Despite her injuries, the woman was able to seek assistance within the Dunkin’ establishment. After conducting an investigation, authorities tracked down the suspect's vehicle in the northern part of Jacksonville, with the suspect eventually taken into custody, as per First Coast News . The nature of the argument that sparked the shooting remains undisclosed.

Following the incident, the victim was transported to a hospital and was reported to be in stable condition. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has initiated a thorough inquiry, examining surveillance footage and gathering evidence at the scene of the crime. Witness accounts are also being solicited as part of their investigation, a statement obtained by Action News Jax outlined.

Authorities have indicated that this appears to be an isolated incident. While the victim and suspect were known to each other, the nature of their relationship remains under investigation. The case is being handled by the Robbery and Violent Crimes Unit, with additional information to be released as it becomes available.
