The WRNR Rockin' River Cruise returns on Wednesday, June 14, with special guest Hippo Campus!
This Wednesday, June 14, WRNR-FM will take to the open waters along with a lucky crew of fans for the Rockin' River Cruise with special guests Hippo Campus. Fans of WRNR will recognize the Rockin' River Cruise as one of the radio station's most fun and celebrated events. The Cruise is a chance for music fans and nautical enthusiasts to come together to enjoy a three-hour boat ride on the majestic Harbor Queen. Guests enjoy drinks and high spirits as they watch a rare, intimate performance by any number of noteworthy artists. WRNR puts on dozens of exclusive events each year. From the Private Artist Showcases at Rams Head on Stage, to this past winter's Holiday Hoo-Ha with the Head and the Heart, listeners know they can count on the station to curate delightful experiences throughout Annapolis and beyond. The beloved station has operated in Annapolis since 1994, serving Grasonville, Annapolis, and the Eastern Shore with its blend of classic artists and new discoveries. Past Rockin' River Cruises have seen performances by artists like Kaleo, Maybird, Barns Courtney, and Vance Joy. It's a chance for live music lovers to experience rising artists perform in close quarters. This upcoming cruise is no exception, featuring Twin Cities indie band Hippo Campus. The creative pop band is on a real upwards streak, fresh off a performance at Bonnaroo and with a full schedule of international shows and festivals ahead of them. It's safe to say that the WRNR Rockin' River Cruise is one of very few opportunities left for listeners to see them in a crowd smaller than 10,000 -- much less 100!
Since their humble beginnings at the Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Arts, Hippo Campus has played in support of bands like My Morning Jacket, Modest Mouse, and Walk The Moon. The band has appeared on Conan, and played at legendary venues like Red Rocks and Lollapalooza. Their most recent video for "way it goes" shows the band mastering their summery, harmonious sound.

While onboard the cruise, WRNR listeners can also take the chance to meet some of the station's famous on-air personalities like Carrie, Bob Waugh, and Rob Timm, depending on the position of the stars at the time. They say that few have matched wits with Rob Timm and lived to tell the tale.
The Harbor Queen leaves the dock at 7:30 p.m. this Wednesday for the WRNR Rockin' River Cruise.
