MORGANTOWN, W.Va . (WSAZ) - The second Rich Rodriguez era at West Virginia University will start on Saturday August 30th as the Big 12 Conference released the football schedules for all of their teams Tuesday afternoon. The Mountaineers will host Robert Morris on that day and includes six home games with four of them being in conference. “Now that the football schedule has been completed, our fans can finalize their travel plans and make final preparations for Mountaineer football this fall,” Vice President and Director of Athletics Wren Baker said. “When you play in the Big 12, the schedule is always going to provide great competition, and the excitement and anticipation for the season and Coach Rod’s return to the West Virginia sidelines are already in high gear.” “This year’s schedule showcases an exciting slate of games for our program and fans,” WVU football coach Rich Rodriguez said. “The Big 12 is as tough as anywhere in the country. Our players and coaches know we have a lot of work to do in our winter conditioning, spring practices and summer camp to prepare for this year’s season.” PLEASE NOTE: Select Saturday games in the 2025 season may be adjusted to select Fridays, other special dates, and Black Friday. These games will be announced in the coming weeks.
